Madison, a.k.a.
Tavonia Taylor was
born and raised in
Jamaica Queens, NY.
Coming from musical
parents (her mother
sang lead in her
gospel group and her
father was a popular
NY radio DJ),
Madison caught the
Hip-Hop bug at the
age of eight while
listening to a
playback of her
brother Lovelace's
first demo.
At the age of 11,
Madison moved to
Long Island to live
with her father
where she would
attend Junior High
School. Due to the
fact that there
wasn't any Rap/R&B
Videos stations on
Long Island at that
time, Madison was
exposed to MTV. It
was this important
time frame between
the ages of 11 and
13 where Madison
fell in love with
Heavy Rock Music.
In 1993, Madison
moved back to her
Queens neighborhood
where she began
entering & winning
local rap battles
and talent
showcases. After an
intense three years
of performing,
recording, &
battling, she was
ready for the big
stage. At the age of
16, Madison (known
as Shadoe then) had
already performed as
an opening act for
many national acts
including The
Notorious B.I.G, Lil,
Kim, Mase and
Ludicris, and has
created a loyal and
growing following.
In the spring of
1998, Madison won
B.E.T's nationally
televised "Teen
Summit Talent
Showcase". In 2001,
she went on to win
Emcee battles on
"106th & Park Free
Style Friday".
In the studio,
Madison has recorded
for and worked with:
Teddy Riley,
Chauncey Black,
(Black Street)
Robbie Williams, LL
Cool J, Mr. Cheeks,
DJ Premiere, Cory
Rooney, Rocwilder,
Ayatollah and has
written seven songs
on Heather Hunter's
new album "The
Unexpected" with a
feature on the album
in stores now.
Her musical interest
cover many genres,
but its her love of
rock and rap (Aerosmith,
Nirvana, Run Dmc,
Prince, Red Hot
Chili Peppers, Ozzy
Osborne, Nas etc.)
that has guided her
to her true love and
the perfect Musical
Mix "Hip Rock".
Together with
Producer/Engineer/Composer/
Alan Scott Plotkin
(Public Enemy,
Aerosmith, RunDMC,
Vanessa Williams),
they have created
the alternative
blend of Rock and
Hip Hop.
